History of Department: –

Establishment: –

Department of Geography started in the year 2001. Geography as a special subject (UG) was introduced from 2001. The department has developed a well-furnished infrastructural facility to cope up with increasing number of students and their demands. The faculty of the department is engaged in teaching, research and extension activities. The department has been organised various academic activities regularly in order to develop research culture among the learning community.

Importance: –

The geography department will develop in each student, critical thinking initiative and the necessary skill to become lifelong students in geography. Emphasis will be placed on learning. Basic concepts and technique through research in an environment that promotes the development of professional with social cultural and humanistic sensibility as well as profound ethical values. In this way the departments contribute to the enrichment of Science and Society through the creation and dissemination of new knowledge through scientific research.

Objectives: –

1. To prepare students for to solve regional geographical problem.
2. To prepare students for professional position in government and of the organisation.
3. To prepare students for include villagers in to watershed development programmer for water scarcity problem.
4. To prepare students for save groundwater as well as storage water.
5. To prepare students for environmental awareness.
