History of Department:-

Establishment :

Department of Library & Information Science is established on June 2001 with the opening and our College. The Department of Library & Information Science is working under the faculty of Social Science. In our department students take admission as per University rule. Since 2001 Mr. Bhise R.R. and from 2009 Mr. Adsule S. P. are working as Full Time Faculty in the department.

Importance

Library and Information Science is a profession that is full of people passionate about making a positive change in the world. Librarians bridge the gaps that exist between people, information and technology. In their professional lives, librarians and information professionals work to create reader’s advisory resources. They also encourage young students to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. They help students locate archival and other resources crucial to their work.

Objectives:-

1. To educate and train students to create and manage libraries.
2. To promote literacy and display dissemination of useful daily information.
3. To cultivate reading habits in college students
4. To provide platform to the students by encouraging their participation in seminar, debates, presentation, etc.
