History of Department:

Marathi department is established in June 2001 with the opening of the college. As per the University rule, students take admission. Dr. Kamble B.V. was working as Head and Full Time Faculty in the department from 2001 till 2017. Dr. Attar A. H. is working as a Full Time Faculty since 2005 and Head of the department from 2017 in the department. And from 2017, Dr. Tamboli F. A. is working as a Full Time Faculty in the department.

Importance:

The Department of Marathi aims to provide all students opportunities to enhance their Linguistic skills, language conservation in present global era, communication skill, development of language culture and research skill and critical thinking skill. The students of our department are from rural background. Therefore it is our duty to make them eligible on both front i.e. theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge. And for this, our department organizes co-curricular & extra-curricular activities for the overall development of our students. Our management offers us an opportunity to participate in seminars, conferences conducted by various college and Universities.

Our assistant professor & Head Dr. Amjad Harun Attar have been awarded Ph.D. degree from T.M.V. University, Pune in the year 2015. And Assistant Professor Dr. Faruk Ahemad Tamboli awarded Ph.D. in 2017 by S.R.T.M.U. University, Nanded. Our departmental students are well known for their good academic career, result and the replacement is concerned.

Objectives:

1. To preserve Marathi literature and culture among the students.
2. To explain Gramin & Dalit literature on critical point on view to decrease social stratification and to develop good social relations.
3. On the border of decline various forms of Marathi like folksong, Lavani, Tamasha, Bharud etc., our department ventures to restore to Marathi language.
